The technical instructions describe baseline monitoring of the biodiversity in the government’s designation of untouched forests. The monitoring is divided into three levels:

1. Describes the basic monitoring of vegetation and structures.
2. Describes the extended monitoring of the abiotic environment, including the collection of soil and plants for laboratory analyzes
3. Describes an extended monitoring of biodiversity in the form of selected species groups that represent the biodiversity in Danish forests.

De tekniske anvisninger beskriver metoder til overvågning af statens naturnationalparker.

• TA-niveau 1 beskriver en prøvefeltbaseret overvågning af vegetation og strukturer, måling af fugtighed og mikroklima og indsamling af miljø-DNA fra jord og vand.
• TA-niveau 2 beskriver en supplerende overvågning i naturnationalparkerne baseret på automatiserede kameraer, remote sensing, overvågning af udvalgte sjældne arter samt beskrivelse af områdernes driftshistorie.
