At this coastal dune heath near Lund Fjord, an experiment is being conducted on the effects of nitrogen deposition, wildlife grazing and management through harvesting. The dune heath is located in an area with low atmospheric nitrogen deposition, making it possible to examine the effects of increased nitrogen inputs.
The purpose of the experiment is to improve understanding of how different environmental drivers affect coastal dune heath ecosystems, thereby enabling their impacts to be modelled and predicted. The knowledge gained will contribute to the adaptive management of dune heaths in Denmark.
