Profile

I completed my MSc in Marine Sciences, with a focus on Biology, at the University of Gothenburg in collaboration with the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in 2021. My thesis examined the diet composition of Great Cormorants on Sweden's west coast. Since then, I have worked in fisheries science, focusing on juvenile and adult cod in nearshore environments, and have served as a marine bird observer for offshore wind energy farms.

Research

My current research focuses on the diet composition of Great Cormorants (Phalacrocorax carbo) from colonies along the Danish coastline. These opportunistic predators forage in various habitats and consume a wide range of fish species. I have developed expertise in identifying fish remains from their pellets and regurgitates. This project examines the diet of colonies on both the west and east coasts of Denmark. Additionally, we are engaged in several international studies investigating cormorant diet in the western Baltic, the Belt Sea, the Øresund, and the Kattegat regions.
