Harbour porpoises caught, tagged and released
A successful hunt for harbor porpoises will radically improve DEPONS research.

Over the period 19–21 September a team of researchers from Aarhus University caught and tagged six harbour porpoises near Rømø in the Danish part of the Wadden Sea. This 7-doubles the number of animals tagged in the southern North Sea. The tags will provide important information on how porpoises move between different parts of the North Sea, which will ultimately improve our ability to predict how the population responds to various types of disturbances.
